The Punch Out
Many specialist retailers and/or major groups (such as Leroy Merlin, SAFRAN...) use a variety of suppliers for their internal purchasing or works council.
In this context, these large organizations use procurement solutions (e-procurement, for example) or products in which they find all their suppliers' catalogs. These purchasing solutions include SAP, SAP Ariba, Oracle, etc.
To enable real-time consultation of the supplier's catalog and negotiated prices, the "Punch-Out" technique transforms the supplier's online store into a catalog integrated with the purchasing solution and the various underlying workflows.
The buyer can then access the supplier's online store (in Punch Out mode) in a secure and nominative way in order to build up his basket, according to his purchasing conditions, and transmit it to his one-click purchasing solution.
The shopping basket will then follow the workflow of the purchasing platform independently of the supplier's online store, and may trigger an order in the form of a PDF file, for example, which will be forwarded to the supplier by another channel (email, csv file, etc.), at a later date.
