To highlight your promotions or sales on your PrestaShop online store, there's nothing like displaying the crossed-out price of one of your products, along with the percentage discount. This functionality is available on the CMS and will be a major asset to the effectiveness of your promotional policy.

With the latter, you can improve the visibility and effectiveness of your promotions by displaying the old price, which is crossed out, as well as the percentage or amount of the discount you're offering, directly on the home page of your e-commerce site.
This feature also ensures optimum consistency with the display of the product sheet, which will also include this crossed-out price.
To further optimize your approach, you have the opportunity to display your discounted products, either in a predefined order according to your own criteria (manufacturer, name, category, price, etc.), or randomly.

Application of specific prices

If you'd like to offer a discount on one of your store's products during a sale or promotional operation, simply go directly to the product page in question, within the "Prices" category. To display the Promo banner on the product images and integrate it into the "Promotions" category, simply check the "Display a Promo banner" box.

The discount can be created in the "Specific prices" section. Click on "Add a specific price". You can also specify who will benefit from this discount, whether it be a particular customer group, country of residence or currency. You can also apply this specific price to one or more variations of the same product. Finally, you'll need to specify the duration of the promotion, the quantities of items that must be ordered to benefit from it, and its amount, expressed either in euros or as a percentage of the base price (exclusive of tax or VAT).

Application of Basket Rules and Catalog Price Rules

As part of your PrestaShop promotion policy, promotional codes are particularly useful on your e-commerce site. To create one, you need to use the "shopping cart rule" functionality. This allows you to trigger one or more actions based on certain conditions that depend on the user's shopping cart. Please note that your online store's basket rules are accessible from the back-office menu, in the "Catalog>Discounts" section. Simply click on the "Add a basket rule" button to create a new discount to which a promo code can be added. In the "information" tab, you'll need to fill in the conditions associated with this promotional code. If you wish to offer a unique promo code, click on the "Generate" button, which will automatically create a set of numbers and letters making up the promo code.
