Showcase Shopping may have been hard to find in August, but it's now starting to appear on browser SERPs. Here's a quick roundup.
As a reminder, Showcase Shopping is a product showcase format, targeting broad queries that are difficult to position with specific products.. These manageable formats can be used to highlight specific products from your Shopping feed.
For example the query "kitchen utensil".
The operation corresponds to what was announced:
- A insert of 3 images appearing on SERP (manageable)
- When the web user clicks on the insert, it unfolds and a set of 10 products appears
- Click on the product takes you back to the merchant's site where to buy
Visit CPC payment is always relevant; either to the final click leading to the product, or to the time spent on the page including the products (maximum 10s)
On the other hand, there is no brand description or header image, as had been presented. Most of the showcase shopping are currently being tested by marketplaces.which may explain this discrepancy.
The benefits of Showcase Shopping:
- Distribution on broad & generic keywords
- Selection of products featured in the insert
- Budget management in the ad group
Above all, once the surfer has entered your insert, any selected product will send them directly to your site. Price comparisons between e-tailers are not possible via this ad format.
The challenge will be to position yourself in the top spots from the outset, in order to have a maximum visibility. Visit visuals proposed in the inserts must also be worked on carefully to ensure that capture attention.
